Scimedico provides decontamination solutions for the clinical lab setting. Scimedico services are offered on a scheduled basis or on an emergency response HAZMAT basis. Decontamination utilizes the Scimedico 4-12 Decontamination Protocol.
Scimedico is the market leader in integrated safety solutions for the clinical lab. Our decontamination services approach lab hygiene and end user safety on an integrated, holistic basis.
SCIMEDICO 4-12 PROTOCOL
The Scimedico 4-12 Decontamination Protocol utilizes a layered decontamination procedure based on a defined process. The 4-12 Protocol applies four primary steps with three sub-steps for a total of twelve steps. The Scimedico
4-12 process makes use of specific decontamination agents. The process follows a defined procedure and reporting format to deliver a standardized approach to staff and overall laboratory safety.
What is the difference between the 4-12 and 2-6 Protocols?
The Scimedico 4-12 Protocol should be considered a "deep decontamination" and should be conducted based on customer requirements. The Scimedico 2-6 Protocol has fewer steps and provides a solution for shorter interval decontamination.
Does Scimedico offer an integrated decontamination solution?
Yes, Scimedico can propose integrated solution combining the right mix of Preventive Maintenance services, the Scimedico PM Kit for end user use, and emergency response decontamination in the case of a hazardous contamination.
What do the numbers stand for in the 4-12 Protocol?
The Scimedico 4-12 Protocol is based on a total of four primary steps (each with 3 sub steps) for a total of twelve steps. The overall process is a layered decontamination procedure that builds on itself to ensure decontamination. We recommend this process be applied to establish a baseline of decontamination on the designated equipment or environment.
What do the numbers stand for in the 2-6 Protocol?
The Scimedico 2-6 Protocol is based on a total of two primary steps (both with three sub steps) for a total of six steps. The overall process is a layered decontamination procedure that builds on itself to ensure decontamination. We recommend this process be applied to establish a baseline of decontamination on the designated equipment or environment.
What is Scimedico's Surface Decontamination?
Scimedico surface decontamination utilizes hydrogen peroxide. Scimedico will "fog" the environment in question, coating the floor, walls, and ceiling.
Scimedico's decontamination solutions operate on an integrated basis to maximize lab hygiene and end user safety.
Equipment PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE services are offered on an annual, bi-annual, or quarterly basis.
SCIMEDICO PM KIT
The SCIMEDICO PM KIT puts the decontamination process in the hands of the end user! This tool is supported by the SCIMEDICO "2X10X20" METHODOLOGY for daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning by end users.
is executed using either the 2-6 or 4-12 Protocol for standard or deep decontamination. SURFACE DECONTAMINATION is also available.
Scimedico offers TEMPERATURE MONITORING, FUME MONITORING, and SPECIMEN TRACKING services.
Scimedico Decontamination Solutions
SCIMEDICO 2-6 DECONTAMINATION

Both the 4-12 and the 2-6 Protocol are decontamination procedures applied to maintain effective hygiene levels in the designated environment
Each protocol is conducted in a layered approach, with each step building on the previous step
Scimedico recommends that service begin with the 4-12 Protocol then reduce to the 2-6 Protocol intervals based on customer requirements
Scimedico provides emergency or hazmat INCIDENCE RESPONSE solutions for customers requiring emergency service based on a hazardous contamination.
Incidence response addresses a hazmat or contagion contamination within the lab or designated environment
A hazmat response is based on availability on the part of Scimedico
Hazmat decontamination applies the Scimedico 4-12 Protocol with surface testing and results reporting
Hazmat decontamination, based on the situation, can include area based decontamination using Surface Decontamination to address the entire environment
The contamination space must be closed for use or closed off from staff access during the decontamination process
Scimedico recommends that environments treated based on hazmat protocols should not be in use for six to eight hours after service is concluded
Scimedico will conduct a pre-service coordination call prior to service delivery and reserves the right, based on conditions to decline service
Scimedico decontamination services are based on the overall procedure Scimedico applies during preventive maintenance in support of the clinical lab. Scimedico decontamination applies the Scimedico 4-12 Decontamination Protocol conducted on every Scimedico PM.
