West Orange, New Jersey - Scimedico, LLC has been engaged by Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital in Boston in Massachusetts to provide Preventive Maintenance in the Pathology and Histology Lab. Scimedico will address both preventive maintenance and repair under the contract.
"The Brigham and Women's Faulkner Lab is state of the art. The team there did an impressive job. They are using the most advanced equipment, have integrated digital imaging, and have maximized space. It's impressive," stated Miguel Bermeo, Scimedico's CEO. "We view our role as Preventive Maintenance provider as supporting their mission to deliver outstanding care throughout the region."
The Scimedico engagement includes preventive maintenance as well as pre defined service and repair between Preventive Maintenance visits. "Our customers have consistently asked us to integrate ongoing service and parts into our offering. We now have three tiers of service that address this need," explained Kelly Lord from Scimedico. "We now offer pre paid repair services and parts budgets to our service contracts. This makes our offering comprehensive and easier for our customers."
Brigham and Women's Faulkner has four custom Mopec MB800 units. "The MB800 is a powerful machine that is layered in technology," explained Henry Vargas from Scimedico. "As these pieces of equipment add complexity with technology and systems, the need to check on their status becomes ever more pressing. The team at Faulkner's will be under warranty for their first PM. This is important because it means that any parts and labor are paid for for covered post preventive maintenance repairs."
The objective of Scimedico's Preventive Maintenance process is to provide a safe working environment, avoid equipment down time, and maintain a hygienic work place. The initial step involves a full inspection, testing, and documentation of the status of each feature and function on the equipment being "PM'd." The Scimedico Decontamination Process applies an eight-step workflow to the equipment which concludes with microbial testing. Scimedico then re-tests all features on the equipment. The final step is air flow testing to assure the ventilation on the equipment is functioning properly.
