West Orange, New Jersey - Scimedico, LLC has completed renovation work at the NYU Langone Medical Center. The NYU Langone Medical Center renovation encompassed the construction of a completely new Pathology environment for NYU Langone Medical Center and the NYU School of Medicine.
For NYU Langone Medical Center, the project involved implementation of a multi cooler body storage environment, new hazmat autopsy environment, and new Anatomic Pathology Lab for the NYU School of Medicine.
Scimedico, worked with the project team and contractor to provide specification review and safety input on all environments, equipment specification, equipment, installation, and commissioning.
For the morgue storage environment, the requirement was to provide multiple coolers for the Hospital, Plastic Surgery Program, and the Medical School. The objective in each of these locations was to maximize capacity while addressing safe patient handling requirements and bariatric body storage needs.
The Autopsy Suite implemented provides a controlled hazmat environment for staff with separate, dedicated HVAC, bariatric procedures, and remote video access.
The Medical School Anatomic Pathology Lab provides students with 16 workstations, an observation class room, and surgical lights and controls at each work station.
