Scimedico, LLC is partnering with North Shore Salem Regional Medical Center, a Partner's HealthCare hospital, to design, install, and manage a new morgue environment for the facility. The solution addresses the need for maximum safety, increased capacity, and optimum use of space. The project also includes Scimedico's Temporary Environment Solution for interim management of the facility morgue.
The rise in obese or bariatric patients has made the requirement for healthcare professionals to address safe patient handling an essential concern. For North Shore Salem Regional Medical Center the need to address this challenge is enhanced by the requirement to increase patient storage capacity in a limited space. Scimedico, LLC is to work with hospital staff and related professionals to design a solution that addresses safety, capacity, and the need to manage bariatric patients.
The project also includes the utilization of Scimedico's Temporary Storage Environment Solution. Scimedico is providing North Shore Salem Regional Medical Center with a fully functional temporary morgue environment while the project is underway. "Scimedico's Temporary Environments are not drive up solutions," explained Miguel Bermeo, Scimedico CEO. "It is a fully functional morgue built with modular parts. The mission is to provide a secure, respectful, and safe solution for the facility."
The Scimedico, LLC Temporary Storage Environment Solution provides the customer with a fully functional morgue or autopsy environment during construction. The solution is an actual cooler or autopsy suite with anteroom. Scimedico's Temporary Environments are designed and deployed taking into account safe patient handling requirements for staff as well as respect for the patient. "Historically temporary pathology environments do not fully consider staff safety, security, and deploying a respectful and discrete process for patients, " explained Scimedico's Kelly Lord.
The will result in a 40% increase in storage capacity, address both the safe patient handling, and bariatric patient management requirement all while maximizing the limited space for the project.
